In Memory of Valerie Manning

Valerie Manning, known as Val by those who knew her, was born to Jim and Violet in 1946, a true east end lady with claret and blue running through her veins she was a proud life long supporter West Ham and followed them closely even after she was unable to see them play with her father on weekends. With a life long love of football, a love that was shared by her husband Brian and inherited by her son Neale. Though always proud of Neale's achievements, two stand out moments were when he found his love of playing football and then later when he turned his passion towards teaching and nurturing other young players and helping them reach their full potential. Despite her long, hard fought battle with cancer she remained kind and loving while being supportive and optimistically looked towards the future. She will forever be remembered as an heroic fighter and inspiration to all those who had the privilege of knowing her.
