Gwen Woods

Gwen Woods, a beautiful, funny & kind lady who died on Tuesday May 24th when she was 82 years old. Gwen leaves behind her loving husband John, daughter Vicki, son Johnny, sister Liz and 5 grandchildren (a further 2 by proxy). Gwen nursed her entire working life with the largest chunk being as a District Nurse with the Boreham & Hatfield Peverel Medical Practices. She positively touched the lives of many people by spreading her unique style of love, care & support. Gwen was totally devoted to her family, who always came first and nothing was too much trouble. We all have an abundance of wonderful memories to comfort us. Along with being a loving wife, mum, sister & grandmother she was also a great friend to many. You may not know that Gwen sat on the very first fundraising committee for Farleigh Hospice and was passionate about people with terminal illness dying with dignity. In recent years she has been a strong champion of Macmillan Cancer Support, and so this page has been set up for those who would like to make a donations instead of flowers at her funeral, and also to give the opportunity to share a message or memory for all to see.
