How it works

Whether you are collecting at a funeral, planning a big anniversary celebration or taking part in a challenge event, your tribute fund will help you to share memories and celebrate your loved one's life. It may be your loved one was a regular at a Macmillan coffee morning, had a special relationship with a Macmillan nurse or liked to help others. Whatever your reason for choosing to support the people Macmillan help, thank you.

Create

Creating a tribute fund is a wonderful way to remember your loved one and continue their story as well as support Macmillan. Your page is an online space where you, friends and family can share photos, memories and stories about the person you want to remember, celebrating their life and everything that made them unique. Thank you for thinking about helping others at this time.

Collect

Your tribute fund provides a personal and easy way of collecting donations in memory of your loved one online. You can share the link with friends and family so they can donate and leave messages. This can be a simple way to collect donations at a funeral or any event you are hosting in your loved one's memory and means you have more time to focus on other things at a busy time.

If you have fundraised for Macmillan in another way or have sent in donations directly, you can include these amounts as offline donations. This means you can see the total raised in memory of your loved one and the total impact of your support all in one place.

Fundraise

As well as collecting donations and memories on your tribute fund page, there are lots of other ways to fundraise for Macmillan in memory of your loved one. If you or your friends or family members are organising or taking part in an event to remember your loved one, you can create an Event page directly linked to your tribute fund.  Anyone who visits your fund page can see the event is taking place, find out more information about how to get involved and donate in support.

Whether you’re taking on a challenge event, hosting a coffee morning, celebrating a special occasion, organising a ball or doing something completely unique in the name of the person you are remembering, we’re here to support you every step of the way. You can visit our fundraising events website for advice, information and inspiration to find the right event for you.

Every gift you make to Macmillan, could be worth more, at no extra cost to you just by choosing to Gift Aid it.

Every gift you make to Macmillan - whatever its value - could be worth more at no extra cost to you just by choosing to Gift Aid it. Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) will add an extra 25p to every £1 you give to Macmillan.

Each year, £560million is left unclaimed by UK charities so it's really important to Gift Aid personal eligible donations so Macmillan can support even more people living with cancer.

If you are collecting donations that cannot be made to your tribute fund or event page and you want a Gift Aid form then please click here for our up to date forms and information to guide you.

Continue

Your tribute fund page is a special space to continue your loved one’s story for years to come. There are many different ways to remember and celebrate the life of the person you are remembering through your tribute fund. Significant dates, events  you hold in their memory, special occasions or trips down memory lane can be the perfect time to bring together friends and family members to continue sharing their memories of your loved one.
